Two Indian Army men killed after barrel of T90 tank burst during field exercise

A T-90 tank's barrel bursted on Friday during a field firing practice in Babina Cantonment near Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, killing two Indian Army personnel.

According to Indian Army officials quoted by the news agency ANI, a court of inquiry has been constituted to look into the incident.

“Two Indian Army personnel including a JCO ( junior commissioned by an officer) lost their lives after the barrel of a T-90 tank burst during a field firing exercise today in Babina Cantonment near Jhansi,” the Indian Army officials said.

Another Army soldier reportedly suffered significant injuries in the incident.

According to a Northeast Now article, the slain Army personnel have been identified as Sukanta Mondal and Sumer Singh, both of West Bengal and Bagaria, Rajasthan.

The injured soldier has been identified as Pradeep Singh Yadav of Khalilabad, Uttar Pradesh.
